Well, as 2017 draws to a close, its a good opportunity to look back at a busy 12 months of Peak District tours and to look at what we have in store for 2018.
Our first full year offering bespoke tours of the Peak District (and beyond) has exceeded our wildest expectations and we have been thrilled to welcome visitors from all around the world, to enjoy the beautiful and unique scenery of the Peak District National Park.
Our guests have included travellers from countries including France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, India, Pakistan, Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and from various states within the USA, including New York, Massachusetts, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Washington, Maryland, West Virginia, Utah, Minnesota, Oregon, California, Colorado, Arizona, Illinois and even Hawaii. As well as, of course, visitors from within the UK.
We've been delighted to share the history of this beautiful area with such a diverse range of guests and it's something that we're looking forward to building upon in the next year. "a unique, bespoke experience"
Our Peak District scenic tours have been our most popular trips and no two have been the same! We pride ourselves on our flexibility and our ability to create a unique, bespoke experience for our guests.
We love a challenge and we have provided tours featuring a whole range of experiences, from art aficionados wanting to see examples of stained glass windows by celebrated pre-Raphaelite artist Edward Burne-Jones, or taking students of forensic criminology to otherwise undiscovered locations!
Jane Austen and Charlotte Bronte have featured regularly in our tours. Our Pride & Prejudice themed tours have allowed our guests to enjoy the sumptuous surroundings of stately homes such as Chatsworth House, Lyme Park and Haddon Hall, as well as some of the atmospheric landscapes featured in film and TV versions of the famous novel.
We have also explored the Peak District's Jane Eyre connections and followed in the footsteps of another of our most celebrated authors.
Meanwhile, our photography tours have gone from strength to strength and have taken photographers, both experienced and novice, to some of the most beautiful and atmospheric locations of the national park. From abandoned relics of our former industries such as lead mines, farm buildings and mills to stunning views, waterfalls and caves, we've covered them all.
The Peak District also provides opportunities to meet wildlife of all sorts of shapes and sizes.
"a fascinating area across the whole year"
The Peak District is a fascinating area across the whole year. From the snowscapes and crisp sunshine of winter to the spring lambs which populate the grassy slopes, from the stunning heather of late summer to the beautiful colours of autumn, the Peak District is a feast for all the senses.
We've also been busy with our Hidden Gems Real Ale Tours and have enjoyed various visits to some of the Peak District's best kept secret pubs. We've also had unique visits to gin distilleries and breweries to complete the behind the scenes experience. Our visitors have been able to enjoy some of the finest beers produced in the Peak District whilst enjoying the surroundings of some wonderful pubs that date back centuries.
We have also been busily exploring the artistic side of the Peak District with the help of our friends from Peak District Artisans, offering our guests the opportunity to visit artists of various disciplines in their home studios and workshops.
All of our tours offer the opportunity to pick up our customers from the doorstep of their Peak District accommodation or from further afield, such as Manchester, Sheffield or even London.
We offer multi-day experiences for customers who are looking to explore different aspects of the area and we can also take our customers further afield while they are based in the Peak District. For example, we combined Peak District tours with day tours of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales national parks this year.
We are very proud of the fact that our tours can open up the Peak District to people of all levels of fitness. Whether our customers want to enjoy long walks in the hills or just sample the scenery from the comfort of our executive vehicle, we can help.
We know all the best spots where visitors to the Peaks can enjoy the sensation of seclusion and fresh air! The maximum of atmosphere for the minimum of exertion!
So here's to a very successful 2017 and we're looking forward to a great 2018.
Bookings are available throughout the year so feel free to get in touch if you'd like any further information as to availability. We look forward to welcoming you to the beautiful surroundings of the Peak District for a unique, bespoke experience.
