We're excited to announce that our new Pride & Prejudice Tours are now available for booking. Immerse yourself amongst the architectural and natural wonders that inspired the book and featured in the film adaptations. Perfect for any modern day Elizabeth Bennets... We've had so many customers on our tours who have been inspired to visit the Peak District by either the film or the book of Pride & Prejudice. So, as well as incorporating a flavour of Jane Austen into our scenic and bespoke tours, we thought we would dedicate a tour specifically to the famous novel. The tour will visit Lyme Park in Cheshire, the filming location of "that lake scene" in which Mr Darcy, played by a soggy Colin Firth, emerged from the cold water and straight into the consciousness of millions of viewers of the BBC production. The tour will also visit Chatsworth House, with an opportunity to explore the house and gardens. Chatsworth is thought to have been the inspiration for Pemberley in the novel and was used in the 2005 film version. As well as the grandiose surroundings of the stately homes, we will also visit the breathtaking landscapes around Stanage Edge, for you to enjoy your Kiera Knightly moment as you survey the Peak District from the cliffs of the spectacular cliff tops. The tour will also stop off in Bakewell for a chance to explore the bustling market town and seek out the original Bakewell pudding shop. Jane Austen stayed in Bakewell while she was working on her novel. Who knows, she may have even tried the pudding herself!
