We're very excited to see what 2019 brings as our range of unique Peak District Tours has expanded and we have brand new tour experiences on offer, with even more being announced soon. We've been very busy behind the scenes too. Over the last couple of months we have incorporated a brand new automated booking system on to our website, making it easier for our customers to check availability and price options. Our bookings may have become automated, but we definitely haven't. So, for those customers who prefer human interaction, you can always email us with booking requests or any questions you might have and we would be delighted to help. We're particularly delighted to have been selected as an experience provider as part of the English National Parks Experience Collection, which launches in 2019. The National Parks have sought out experiences which tell the stories of our landscapes, history and culture to promote to an international audience. Our "Plague Village & The Peaks" tour has been designed as part of the collection and is based on the unique and dramatic history of the village of Eyam in the heart of the Peak District. The village quarantined itself off from the outside world during an outbreak of the plague in 1665, successfully containing the outbreak but at a cost of the lives of around a third of the village's population. The village is still thriving today and visitors can explore some fascinating sights in the village itself and the surrounding countryside. As well as our bespoke tours, where our customers can design their own itinerary, we also have 3 scenic tours available. One concentrating on the wild and atmospheric Dark Peak area, with its gritstone edges and sprawling views, another celebrating the gentle rolling valleys and limestone dales of the White Peak and the stunning scenery of the western edge of the Peak District, where Derbyshire and Staffordshire meet. For those who want to see some of the highlights of the National Park within a day, we also have our ever popular "Best Of the Peak District" tour. Our unique Pride & Prejudice Tour has also gone from strength to strength, being one of our most popular experiences. On the tour, our customers can choose how they would like to spend time on the day. Some might want to climb up to the cliffs on Stanage Edge to stand in Keira Knightly's footsteps, whilst others might prefer the less energetic option to spend more time exploring Chatsworth, Lyme Park or Haddon Hall. Also new for 2019 is our Peak District At The Movies Tour, which will appeal to film buffs of all ages. From Harry Potter fans wanting to visit Malfoy Manor to devotees of the Princess Bride, this is the tour for them. Our photography tours have also expanded for 2019 and 3 distinct experiences are now offered. Landmarks and Landscapes, Close To The Edge and Down By The River (fans of seminal 70's progressive rockers Yes will recognise the latter two!) Our photography experiences are suitable for all levels of skill and equipment. Whether you arrive armed with a pack full of the latest DSLR gear or just your phone, this is chance to enjoy a day photographing the distinctive landscape of the national park. Informal and friendly advice is on hand for those who are not sure about aspects of landscape photography, or perhaps those who are frightened to venture out of automatic mode on their camera. All of our tours are available to be booked for 1 to 6 passengers. The beauty of a small group is that we can enjoy a high degree of flexibility rather than stick to a rigid schedule so, if our customers want to spend more time at a particular place, or they would like to combine two different experiences on the same day, it's no problem. We can even provide tours of other national parks for people who may be based in the Peak District for a few days but would like a one day tour of the Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales, for example. We can pick you up from the door of your Peak District accommodation, say at 8am and head up to the Lake District, where we can explore some of the most spectacular lake and mountain scenery, including Ambleside, Hard Knott Pass, Wastwater, Buttermere and Derwentwater, before returning to your Peak District accommodation around 8pm. Just drop us an email if you would like to enquire about a tour like this and we can arrange a day specially for you. We will be uploading details of more new tours over the next couple of months so make sure you check back with us soon. And if you would like any more information about any of our tours, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
