Pride & Prejudice 1995 Peak District Tour
Fans of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice are spoilt for choice in the Peak District, as both the 1995 series and the 2005 film included iconic Peak District locations.
This tour is perfect for those who favour the 1995 BBC production of Pride & Prejudice, starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle.
The tour includes the opportunity to explore two different country houses which were used as Pemberley. As well as wandering around the beautiful landscaped gardens, the Italianate courtyard and the famous lake in which Mr Darcy took a dip, our guests can also visit the house used for the interior of Pemberley, where they will be able to recognise many rooms which were featured in the series, as well as the desk at which Colin Firth sat as Mr Darcy.
Please note that Sudbury Hall, which was used as the interior of Pemberley, will be closed to visitors during 2021 for renovation. Our guests will have the option to replace Sudbury in the itinerary with other locations, including Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, which have both featured in many TV and film productions, including Pride & Prejudice.
The two houses are at opposite ends of the national park and are separated by breathtaking scenery. Along the way, we can explore other iconic locations used in the production, including the narrow cobbled streets which were used as Lambton, and the stunning viewpoint in the Dark Peak, from where Elizabeth enjoys the landscapes with her Aunt and Uncle.
Refreshment stops are available throughout the day. So whether you would like to visit a traditional country pub and taste some wonderful locally sourced food and drink, or whether you would prefer a brew with a view at some of the Peak District's hidden away tea rooms, that would be no problem.
We can even take you to a farm which produces wonderful ice cream from their herd of friendly Jersey cows, for a treat not be missed!
This tour is suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness. We offer private tours for groups of 1 to 4 passengers in a comfortable and spacious vehicle with climate controlled air conditioning.
Our tours tend to run from approximately 10am to 5:30pm, but we pride ourselves on our flexibility and can arrange the times to suit our customers' preferences. We can also pick up and drop off our guests from their accommodation or their preferred railway station or airport, as appropriate.
Prices begin at £265 for the full day tour. Our prices exclude food and drink and any admission prices which may be payable locally. (Both houses are owned by the National Trust so members will be able to get free admission.)
