We've got some exciting developments coming soon at liveforthehills.com so we thought we would provide a quick news update.
We're off to the beautiful Isle of Mull
Yes, the chaps from liveforthehills.com are heading North to the Hebrides, for a long weekend of walking, whisky and, no doubt, weather. Where better to base ourselves than the Isle of Mull?
So, tomorrow, it's up to Oban to jump on the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry to Craignure. We'll be settling ourselves in Tobermory for the weekend and we'll finalise our walking routes once we know what type of weather we will be facing. Whether it's Ben More or an exploration of Iona, all will be revealed in our next blog post. We're sure to sample the various hostelries of Tobermory too, because it would be rude not to.

Our Online Store is Opening Soon
As the eagle eyed amongst our readers will have spotted, "cart" has appeared in the navigation bar above. Don't worry, it doesn't do anything yet.
But, we are working hard behind the scenes on opening our brand new online store within liveforthehills.com, where it will be possible to order prints of Mark Sweeney's landscape and nature photography. Based on scenes predominantly from Britain's countryside but also featuring some of our more far-flung adventures, these will be available in various traditional and modern formats, including hand stretched canvasses, beautiful, contemporary, aluminium print panels and stunning acrylic panels, as well as many more unique products.
We're hoping to announce the opening of our store page within the next week.

Also on the subject of photography, we're very excited to have made the switch to the world of Fujifilm with the wonderful XT1. We felt that the choice and quality of the Fuji lenses was perfect for our landscape photography, as well as the bonus of weatherproofing. Not that I'm complaining about Peak District weather, you understand...
So, we've gone with the 18-135 kit zoom and the brilliant 16mm prime lens for now. Hopefully, you will enjoy the results, as we'll be using this set up alongside the immensely pocketable Sony HX90v.
Are Friends Electric?
Yes, it's a Gary Numan reference, for readers of a certain age.
We care about the environment. Without it, there wouldn't be much to cover in our blog.
To minimise our impact on the natural world, we're about to join the world of electric motoring, with a fully electric Renault Zoe, to take us to here and there for our photographic adventures.
We'll see whether an electric car can be a viable family car for an active family and we'll report back regularly.
And finally...say hello to our newest member of staff
As followers of Mark Sweeney Images on Twitter will know, we love springer spaniels. We recently lost our second springer and life feels strangely incomplete without one.
So, say hello to 6 week old Fern, who is an English Springer Spaniel. She's too young to leave her mum just yet, but will be coming to join us soon.
Readers can expect lots of gratuitous spaniel/summit shots over coming years.
But, for now, we have to make do with cute puppy shots, to make you go "awww".
So thank you for reading and for all your support, both here and on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. We really appreciate it and we'll soon be sharing our Mull adventures so please stay tuned. Don't forget you can join our email mailing list which will provide news of updates to the site, or you can follow us on the usual social media sites.
We'll leave you for now with another photograph which will be featured in our store, which is from a forthcoming blog post covering a beautiful walk on Cracken Edge in Derbyshire.
